...And into the West you sailed, You boarded that great sailing ship, A ship that has no need of water to float, Nor winds to billow and blow, The mast stands unshaken by time and use, Unbent and un-wavered, but into the mists, Beyond the dark veil you sailed. As the ship slips between the swells, And rides atop the waves, Never tipping to and fro, Fore and aft remain unchanged By stormy seas or gentle breeze, The ship sails on into the West, at Journeys end, all souls depart, To disembark on distant shores. Though tears may fall and hearts Are heavy, your journey home Is smooth sailing, And into the West you sailed... ~Koneta 2023
