Whether the stars can fall
and burst forth upon the wet grass
twinkling like diamonds under a moonlit sky,
Whether the star dust gathers and flows
leaving a trail, and blowing into the
corners and shadows of a lost garden,
Whether tracks are left by slippered feet
or paw, evidenced by the odd night predator
who seeks to find and follow unseen,
Whether the stars can fall shaking
loose from their place in the sticky tarred
firmament they once called home,
Whether the stars will share their secrets,
or the mystery continues is yet to be
determined and remains for an eternity.
Whether the story told is old or new,
real or imagined, on enchanted nights
stars will fall, their dust marking a path
only few will see or follow and daring
to explore where the journey may
take them. The stardust will then gather
once more and rise to the skies to take their
place once again to brighten the night.
