Up in ashes with no fire, only smoke to tell the tale,
Stars rise up one by one too quickly burn and then go out,
Lightning flashes amidst thunderous applause to drown
The cries and tears that fall, unseen and unheard in a forest
Dark, do they even exist at all?
No path to follow no markers to guide,
Only a forest of dark trees stacked high to the sky
Each ring a lost dream that has gone by the by,
Dreams that you dreamed of the future to fly,
Now construct the trees in your forest of woe.
Mists shroud the borders as fog clouds the mind,
Ever in the gloaming no rays can you find,
Through the pall that covers as a dark cloak encircles,
Into your garden of grief and despair are the dreams
You once dreamed of a future so fair.
